Registration and Immunizations
If you are new to our neighborhood, or if your child will enter kindergarten for the first time, you’ve come to the right place for all the registration and immunization information you might need.
North Cedar’s student registration for the 2016-17 school year will be done entirely online. Please use the PowerSchool registration link starting at 4:00 p.m. on August 1 through August 15. Please make sure all information listed is accurate and updated.
Registration must be completed by August 15 in order to ensure that class rosters, bus routes, class schedules, lunch accounts, etc. can be ready for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 24.
We will have computers set up at the Junior/Senior High School in Clarence on August 9 to assist parents who do not have access to a computer or who simply need help with the online registration process. Hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., reopen at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m.
If you have questions, please call one of the building secretaries between August 5 and August 12. The phone numbers are:
- Junior/Senior High School – (563) 452.3179
- Lowden Elementary (563) 941.5383
- Mechanicsville Elementary (563) 432.6933
If your student will be taking any medication at school on a regular basis please bring them to the school nurse on August 9 or before August 15. Also, please fill out a permission form for the administration of this medication. The prescription bottle label is the order for prescription medication but over-the-counter medication needs a signed prescription from a physician. As a reminder, be sure that the bottle is properly labeled and that it is a recent (within a year) prescription. Important - if your student uses an inhaler, please be sure that there is a back-up inhaler in the school’s office. Any student who wishes to carry their inhaler must have a physician’s order to do so.
We follow all immunization guidelines and requirements set forth by the Iowa Department of Public Health. Please make arrangements for immunizations with your family physician or the county health department. We will exclude students who are not immunized from school in the event of an epidemic. More information about required immunizations is located at the side of this page
