Psychology and Law Classes

High School students from Mr. Schveiger’s Psychology classes and Ms. Barnes’ Law classes visited the Anamosa State Penitentiary Museum and toured the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office and Jail on December 1, 2022. Students learned the history of the state prison, including the evolution of inmate stays and comfort. Each student also was able to witness the process for entering and serving time at the Cedar County Jail. Other highlights included understanding the medical needs of prisoners and the guard job training.
