Each month the North Cedar School Board shares two or three highlights of our monthly board meetings. These takeaways are messages that the board collectively feels are important for the public to know. Here are the highlights from the April 19, 2021, meeting:
- SIAC Explores Facilities Improvements. Several members of the North Cedar community recently participated in the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC). This group met and discussed future improvements to facilities to enhance educational opportunities and programs. Look for additional opportunities for public input later this year.
- Early Retirements Approved. The board approved early retirement requests for Diane Crittenden, Rick Crittenden, Patti Lehrman and Deb Harr. We thank all four for their years of service to the district and their dedication to our students.
- Staff Professional Development Efforts. In a special Focus on Education presentation, administrators shared a number of current and planned staff training initiatives that are designed to support and improve proficiency in math and reading as well as provide social and emotional support for students.
