September Board Meeting Highlights

Each month the North Cedar School Board shares two or three highlights of our monthly board meetings. These takeaways are messages that the board collectively feels are important for the public to know. Here are the highlights from the Sept. 20, 2021, meeting:

  1. Facilities Improvements. Based on a recommendation from the district’s Student Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC), the board discussed forming a committee to explore the feasibility of several facilities enhancements at the Jr./Sr. High building in Clarence. Recommendations include a fine arts performance center/theater and multi-use sports court for physical education classes, wrestling, cheerleading and other community and youth recreation activities.
  2. Math Curriculum. In part one of a three part special Focus on Education presentation, administrators shared an overview of the district’s math curriculum. Next month district leaders will discuss staff professional development initiatives related to math.
  3. Wishes for a Successful Year. A shout out to all North Cedar Knights for your efforts to make our in-person learning experience safe and successful this year. We appreciate the commitment of the entire North Cedar community for creating a supportive learning environment for students at all grade levels.
