Our North Cedar School Resource Navigator partnered with the Cedar County ISU extension’s community partnerships for protecting children to “plant” blue pinwheel gardens during the month of April for Child Abuse Awareness Month to help bring awareness to child abuse prevention.
Pinwheels are a symbol of happy, healthy kids. During April, you can often see pinwheel gardens outside of agencies that work to protect children as they participate in Child Abuse Prevention Month activities by “planting” pinwheels in their garden or yard area. Pinwheel gardens serve as a great visual that our community and our schools are committed to child abuse awareness and prevention.
A big thank you to Ms. Jensen and her preschoolers, Ms. Petersen and her kindergarteners, Ms. Walker and her second graders, and the junior high students who helped plant these gardens.
